Total consumption data has been seasonally adjusted on a daily basis. To calculate the quarter on quarter (QoQ) real growth rate, we compute the cumulative 91 days series and compute the proxied QoQ growth rate for the daily series comparing each observation with 91 days before. QoQ daily consumption proxy can diverge due to the differences in the number of the days in the quarter relative to 91 days. The difference in calendars can affect the quarterly figure more or less depending on the relevance of the day missing. The Big Data indicator does not need to coincide with our BBVA Research consumption quarterly projection.
